Race Report: Nurburgring, 31 March 1975

nurburgring_31_3_75

A support race for the 300 km Sports Car race and round 1 of the the German F3 Championship. The race format was fairly complex, there were two 10 lap heats of the short 2.292 km circuit, the fastest eight from each heat made it to the two part final. The final consisted of two 20 lap races with the same grid being used for both, the results were then decided on aggregate times.

Conny Andersson suffered from a broken gearlever and a failing rear wing in the first part of the final but he led the second race from start to finish. Alceste Bodini was very unlucky in second race of the final, he was lying second in his ex-Cevert-Salvati Tecno until the last lap when engine problems dropped him down to fourth at the flag.
